Caterpillar Class

3-4 years old

Our Preschoolers are known as the Caterpillars! At FOTF,  our preschool program offers children a wide variety of learning opportunities. The curriculum allows children to explore the world they live in with the safety and support of great teachers. From reading, to math, to home life, they will be exposed to activities that will promote curiosity, learning and creativity.

Our different approaches to learning help assess the ability of our Caterpillars to set goals, make plans and interact with others. We introduce skills your preschooler will need to prepare for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

Daily activities explore the following subject areas:

  • Early Math

Measuring the ability to comprehend numbers, understand patterns, sort and order, plus using numbers for addition, subtraction, measurement, and graphing.

  • Physical Development/Health

  • Creative Arts

Assessing the ability to demonstrate both feelings and ideas through music, movement, and dramatic play.

  • Language

Incorporate both receptive and expressive vocabulary by using conversation and language for effective communication.

Butterfly Class

4-5 Year old

Our Pre-Kindergarteners are known as the Butterflies! Our Pre-K program offers children the next step in preparing for kindergarten. Along with educational advances, your child will learn to work with others in a group setting. They will learn how to communicate and express their thoughts in an open learning environment, giving them the opportunity to start kindergarten off successfully. We utilize different approaches to learning to help aide the children in goal-setting, organizing and interacting with peers and the environment.

Daily activities explore the following subject areas:

  • Literacy & Language

Activities include naming all the letters (upper and lowercase) in the alphabet, putting sounds in the right order, writing and reading short words, plus other early writing, reading, communication, and vocabulary.

  • Creative Arts

Express  feelings and ideas through song, dance, visual arts, and drama.

  • Nature and Science

Science is about exploration and discovery, so hands-on learning opportunities are used to learn about themes such as animals, transportation, health and feelings, day/night, and growing.

  • Logic & Reasoning

Constructively showing sequencing, problem-solving, and symbolic and critical thinking skills.

  • Early Math

Children receive an introduction to math concepts that they will explore more fully in kindergarten. There is both large and small group math instruction, daily math routines, and math workstations. Concepts such as numbers, sorting, ordering, and patterns are explored.
